Makeup Training Project Report

This report highlights the Makeup Training Project conducted by Tendos Foundation, which took place on October 24, 2023. The project aimed to provide young girls in the Northwest and Southwest regions of Cameroon, affected by the ongoing crises, with skills and knowledge in makeup application. This report emphasizes the importance of the project for these young girls, considering the challenging circumstances they face due to the crises. We stated with south west were we had the traning in buea with 45 young girls, we later went to limbe with a total of 38 young girls .

Project Objectives:

Skill Development: The project aimed to equip young girls with practical skills in makeup application. By providing training in this field, the project sought to enhance their self-confidence and empower them with a valuable skill set.

Economic Empowerment: The project aimed to create opportunities for economic empowerment for the young girls. By training them in makeup application, they would have the potential to start their own businesses or seek employment in the beauty industry.

Psychological Well-being: The project sought to address the psychosocial needs of the young girls affected by the crises. By engaging in the makeup training, they could experience a sense of normalcy, boost their self-esteem, and find a creative outlet for self-expression.

Project Activities:

Makeup Workshops: Tendos Foundation organized comprehensive makeup workshops, covering various techniques, product knowledge, and hygiene practices. Professional makeup artists conducted interactive sessions to ensure hands-on learning and skill development.

Practical Training: The young girls had the opportunity to practice makeup application on themselves and others under the guidance of experienced trainers. This practical training allowed them to build confidence and refine their skills.

Product and Tool Distribution: Tendos Foundation provided the necessary makeup products and tools to the participants, ensuring they had access to quality materials for their training. This enabled them to continue practicing their skills even after the project’s completion.

Mentorship and Guidance: The project included mentorship and ongoing guidance for the young girls. Trained mentors provided support, advice, and encouragement to help them navigate challenges and explore opportunities in the makeup industry.

Importance for Young Girls in Crisis-Affected Regions:

Economic Opportunities: The makeup training project offered young girls an avenue for economic empowerment. In the midst of the ongoing crises, where access to education and employment opportunities may be limited, acquiring makeup skills could provide a means of generating income and attaining financial independence.

Psychological Well-being: Engaging in the makeup training project allowed the young girls to experience a sense of normalcy and boost their self-esteem. It provided them with a positive and creative outlet to express themselves, fostering psychological well-being in a challenging environment.

The Makeup Training Project conducted by Tendos Foundation played a significant role in empowering young girls in crisis-affected regions in Cameroon.
